Karen
Cameron has been a jazz and big band singer in the Boston area for the past
twenty years. Her many big band and "on the road" credits include Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians, the Glenn Miller Band, the Nelson Riddle Orchestra,
Ted Herbert's Big Band and the Al Cobine Band based in Bloomington, Indiana.
Karen embraces a variety of musical styles. She can be found leading her own
band, "Something Cool" at a Boston swing dance, singing a classical piece
for a wedding ceremony, recording a country tune demo, singing in a symphony
pops concert, singing alto in a praise band, singing soprano in a church
choir and giving workshops and concerts in the jazz element. Jazz festivals:

Karen has been accompanied by some of the best: Butch Tompson, Barney Kessel,
Jacki Byard, Richard Davis, Bob Winter, Mike Monaghan, Yasko Kubota, and
Dick Johnson, to name a few. As a free lance singer with Boston musicians ,
Karen says, "I am forever humbled in the presence of their talents - those
great musicians who are little known to the public but who can make my heart
leap with a few bars of improvisation!"
Born in North Dakota, Karen now resides in New Hampshire's seacoast with her
bassist husband Mitch Brook.
